Our holidays begin
Our holidays begin
By Ingemar Pongratz
We are in Thailand, specifically we are in Bangkok for a few day before we spend a couple of days in Hua Hin and Tao Takiab at the beach.
The first day is always special and we decided to start our Bangkok stay at the Peninsula Hotel. We stayed at The Peninsula last year as well and since we really liked the hotel and the atmosphere we decided to go back. It is a really nice hotel and Louise really likes it as well. Not so many families sadly, specially families with smaller children but still a great place. A little expensive, food, drinks and other activities are rather pricy, but very much worth it.
It was really a great start. We arrived in the afternoon / evening, so we decided for a slow day. Basically, rediscover the hotel. We started with a visit to the River Cafè, which is a great place. The staff is very attentive and the food is great, Louise loves their chicken satay, and their fresh juices are excellent. There are not many better ways to end a busy day than with a mango juice at the river and just watch the view of Bangkok. The River is rather busy, quite a lot of boats pass. So times basically just stops…
The hotel room we got had a great view and Louise got a few flower gift from the hotel reception, so she decorated her stuffed animals. The Zebra is called Ruby and then we have Moony Moonlight! The spent quite a lot of time with us and visited a lot of shops!
They also became friend with the staff. I think in fact that I really what makes the Peninsula at great hotel, the staff. They are very polite and attentive. There are other hotels which are also very nice, but the Peninsula staff is what makes the difference.
So we are basically ready to re-discover Thailand… More on this soon!
