School has started
School has started
By Ingemar Pongratz
Hello again, well time to write again, actually due to popular demand. Well, popular and popular, one person at school said they follow the posts that I write.
So again due to popular demand, another post.
This time it is about school. It has been almost one month since school started and Louise was, let’s put this politely, not thrilled. Kind of interesting, everybody keeps telling how fun school was when they were kids and how much their kids love to go to school. This was not the case with Louise.
She was kind of exited one or two days after that it was boring. So she decided that she was not going to go to school.
So we tried to approach this from a pedagogic way and explained that everybody needs to go to school, school is fun, you learn new stuff in school etc. Good arguments, no doubt about that. But good for a eight year old? Not so much.
So after a couple of trials we went back to good old trickery. Louise received a couple of stuffed animals and of course she was allowed to bring them to school to show her friends. We also agreed that we would upgrade her room. After all she is not a small kid anymore and she needs to choose her own furniture and stuff like that. So we got her a new writing desk, lamps and her own yellow sofa! That was a big hit!
And you know what? It worked very well. and now schools is fun again, which is great. She is quite happy to go to school and she specially likes to bring her friends over. She has two best friends, Moa and Tuva. really great girls! Unfortunately, they are also Minecraft addicts.
So they play Minecraft for hours! And they build houses, create cats and unicorns, and other stuff. It is quite fun to listen to them play. Louise has decided she will be a YouTuber when she is older, but this has recently changed. She will be a vet! However she will only treat girl animals and unicorns, because they are nice. Boy are not welcome she said they are just noisy and create a fuzz all the time…Well Well, I will remind her in a few years…
But the good thing in any case is that Louise is very happy in school and doing well. Reading and writing is the best part, mathematics are OK, but the breaks are too short. So basically everything is quite good
She started a new class, drawing and dancing. The first session was last week and it was a great success! Hopefully she will keep it it up.
We also suggested sport. The look she gave me was priceless! So no sports, at least not yet…
But she swims at least so we need to keep that up.
Anyway, the good thing is that things are well.
More from Ingemar Pongratz soon
Have a great time
